2 more solons jump to Lakas bandwagon

TWO more congressmen on Monday joined Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), the biggest political group in Congress and the country.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez administered the oath of membership to Representatives Joel Chua of Manila’s 3rd district and Ed Christopher Go of Isabela’s 2nd District in the presence of other party officers.

Soledad Go, wife of Baguio City Rep. Mark Go also joined Lakas-CMD.

The affiliation of Chua and Go brings to 102 the total number of Lakas-CMD members in the House of Representatives.

Speaker Romualdez said he was happy to welcome his new party members.

“They share our principles and aspirations for a better life for our people and a more progressive Philippines,” he said.

He said Lakas-CMD's expanded membership means wider support in Congress for the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Aside from lawmakers, the administration party has also been attracting local officials.

Mexico, Pampanga Mayor Redencio Gonzales, Vice Mayor Jonathan Pangan, and Councilor Ma. Angela Pangan also took their oath before the Speaker as new members of Lakas-CMD Monday afternoon.
