Unbeaten squads Adamson University and Bacolod Tay Tung will dispute the 2024 Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League title at Adamson Gym main court in Manila on Sunday.

The Baby Falcons, who ruled the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 86 this year, and the Thunderbolts, the reigning Palarong Pambansa champions, meet at 4 p.m.

They follow the battle for third between National University-Nazareth School and Kings’ Montessori School of Quezon City at 2 p.m.

Adamson defeated NU-Nazareth, 25-19, 25-17, 25-17, in the semifinal on Thursday.

“We thank the Lord for this opportunity to be in the finals. We must continue to work hard, we need to work on our passing and attack, everything that is still a bit inconsistent," Adamson coach JP Yude said after the semifinals.

UAAP Season 86 Most Valuable Player Shaina Nitura is expected to lead the Baby Falcons before moving up the seniors division.

Supporting her are wingers Samantha Cantada and Abegail Segui, middle blockers Mary Ann Del Moral and Lhouriz Tuddao, and setter Felicity Sagaysay.

Bacolod Tay Tung is also determined to win after finishing third in the inaugural edition last year, behind California Academy of Antipolo and Naga College Foundation.

The Thunderbolts, bannered by Rhose Almendralejo, Jothea Ramos and Ana Hemosura, beat the Montessori Lady Vikings, 25-18, 25-14, 25-23, in the other semis to reach the finals of the country’s premier grassroots volleyball tournament.

“Adamson is strong but we will try. It's a big help because we're preparing for the Palarong Pambansa in Cebu next month," coach Ian Macariola said in a previous interview.

Meanwhile, Arellano University will face Far Eastern University-Diliman at noon in the battle for fifth place while Bethel Academy and Lyceum will clash at 10 a.m. for seventh place. PNA
