A lucky bettor from Cavite who won the Lotto 6/42 jackpot drawn last May 16, 2024 claimed his winnings amounting to 74,759,118.80 on May 27, 2024, at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.

In an interview, he said he played the lotto randomly for 25 years, and his persistence has paid off in a momentous win.

The winning numbers 11-23-05-22-24-03 were chosen based on the birthdates and birth months of his three children, which adds sentimental value to his victory.

When asked about how he discovered his jackpot win, he shared that upon revisiting the lotto outlet, he was shocked to find that the number combination he had selected three days prior were prominently displayed as the winning numbers.

The winner disclosed his plans to invest in a new business venture and secure a financial cushion for the future.

Last April, a 50-year-old laborer, also from Cavite, hammered his way to the millionaire’s list by claiming the jackpot prize of P46,011,957.80 for the Megalotto 6/45.

To claim lotto prizes, winners must sign the back of the winning ticket and provide two valid government IDs for verification.

Additionally, under the TRAIN Law, they must comply with the 20% tax on prizes exceeding 10,000.

As per RA 1169, winners have one year from the draw date to claim their prize at the PCSO Main Office at Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
