BI collars two wantedChinese fugitives at NAIA

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said its officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) arrested two Chinese nationals who are wanted for deportation by the agency for being undesirable aliens.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado disclosed that the passengers were intercepted at the airport on separate dates last September as they were about to leave the country.

“They were not allowed to board their flights after their names yielded positive derogatory hits in our records while our officers processed their documents in our departure counters,” Viado said.

He added that the duo were arrested and detained at the BI’s detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation to their country of origin.

One of the passengers was identified as Shen Hao Dong, 26, who was apprehended at the NAIA Terminal 1 last Sept. 29 while he was about to board a Philippine Airlines flight to Xiamen, China.

Records showed that Shen was ordered deported by the BI board of commissioners on Nov. 21 last year for being undesirable due to his alleged involvement in prostitution, human trafficking and labor exploitation.

Earlier, on Sept. 21, BI-NAIA personnel intercepted at the NAIA terminal 3, 33-year-old Liu Huan, who was prevented from boarding his Air Asia flight to Bangkok, Thailand.

Liu was ordered expelled by the BI on May 25 last year after the Beijng government sought his deportation and of 15 other Chinese nationals who are wanted in China for economic crimes.
