Calabarzon police initiatives to enhance public safety, deter crime

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Police Regional Office in Calabarzon (PRO 4A) on Thursday launched and presented to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, three policing strategies to enhance public safety, improve emergency response coordination, and deter crime.

"These initiatives— the P.O.W.E.R Services Application, Blue Cops in Mobile Sub-station on Wheels (BCMW), and the Integrated Patrol System 'RONDA'—are the result of collaborative efforts among our personnel, stakeholders, and the community," Marbil said during his command visit at Camp Vicente Lim here.

The PNP chief unveiled the BCMW, a mobile sub-station manned by uniformed personnel and force multipliers. It is operational around the clock and deployable to business districts, alleys, and busy streets. During emergencies, the BCMW will act as a mini tactical operations center, enhancing crisis management and coordination among response teams, including during natural disasters.

"Our proactive approach ensures police services are accessible, even in remote areas," Marbil said.

He also inaugurated the P.O.W.E.R Services Application, an internet-based platform designed to facilitate emergency requests, crime reporting, complaint filing, and community engagement. "This innovative tool bridges the gap between law enforcement and the public, providing timely and effective responses," he noted.

Meanwhile, Marbil applauded PRO4A's "RONDA" approach, revitalizing patrol operations and neighborhood watch to enhance public safety through active police presence. "Let's maintain vigilance, proactivity, and responsiveness to the communities we serve," he urged lawmen.

Expressing satisfaction, Marbil reiterated his guidance to the command and commended PRO4A Regional Director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas for his leadership. "Your dedication forms the backbone of our organization, ensuring a safer environment for all," he said. (PNA)
