Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh of Calabarzon sustained her brilliant form with another victory in the Palarong Pambansa swimming at Cebu City Sports Center on Saturday.
She clocked 1 minute and 03.82 secons to beat Patricia Mae Santor (1:06.17) of National Capital Region (NCR) and Franchesca Nicole Sarmiento (1:07.15) of Central Luzon in the girls’ 13-18 100-meter butterfly event.
The 17-year-old Mojdeh of Brent International School Laguna now has four gold medals, counting her triumphs in the 200m butterfly, 200m breaststroke and 200m Individual Medley events.
Mojdeh's teammates, Peter Cyrus Dean and Albert Jose Amaro II, also collected their fourth gold medals.
Dean topped the boys’ 13-18 200m backstroke in 2:12.72, prevailing over Ivo Nikolai Enot of NCR (2:13.38) and teammate Rolando Escat Jr. (2:15.52).
Dean's earlier victories were in the 200m IM, 4x100m medley relay and 4x50m medley relay. He also pocketed the silver in the 100m backstroke.
Amaro registered 56.50 seconds to win in the boys’ 13-18 100m butterfly.
His teammate, Reinelle Jan Mikos, got the silver medal in 56.76s while Hugh Antonio Parto of NCR posted 58.66 to settle for bronze.
Almaro also claimed victories in the 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle and 4x100m medley relay events.
Soccsksargen bet Christian Isaiah Lagnason captured the gold medals in the boys’ 7-12 400m freestyle and 100m butterfly, while teammate Jie Angela Mikaela Talosig triumphed in the girls’ 13-15 1500m freestyle.
Western Visayas grabbed three gold medals coming from Zyra Villarino in the girls’ 7-12 400m freestyle, Alexi Cabayaran in the girls’ 13-18 50m backstroke, and the boys’ 7-12 4x50m freestyle relay team of Aehro Jeush Tibush, Jasper Melgasco, Rhomrick John Cister and Enzo Miguel Leyva.
The other gold medalists were Paolo Miguel Labanon of Davao Region (boys’ 13-18 1500m freestyle), FJ Catherine Cruz of Central Luzon (girls’ 13-18 200m backstroke) and Jan Dwayne Malpas of Eastern Visayas (boys’ 7-12 50m backstroke).
