Cariaso upbeat on Blackwater's chances: 'We control our destiny'

WITH two more games left in the elimination round, Blackwater coach Jeff Cariaso remains upbeat on the team's chances of advancing to the next round.

"I still believe we control our destiny," said Cariaso. "We still have two games left, although our remaining games will be tougher. All we have to do is win and see where would it take us."

The Bossing are tied at fourth and fifth spots with NLEX in Group B with identical 3-5 win-loss record. But the Road Warriors enjoy the upper hand by virtue of the win over the other rule.

Making the situation more challenging for Blackwater is its last two assignments. It faces the mighty San Miguel Beer on Saturday before wrapping up its elimination campaign against Rain or Shine on Monday, September 23.

Despite the daunting task, Cariaso will survive the challenges and expects import George King and explosive newcomer Sedrick Barefield to deliver when the going gets tough.

The Bossing would also need more consistent games from veteran forward Troy Rosario, according to Cariaso.

"We lost our last two games, but the important thing is to bring the lessons from those two losses in our upcoming last two games. That's where we determine our fate this conference," added Cariaso. "But we keep the faith in our players and we're going to prepare hard in our next two crucial games."(RJ)
