The Boston Celtics, propelled by Jayson Tatum's 36-point performance, overcame an 18-point deficit to defeat the Indiana Pacers 114-111 on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time), securing a commanding 3-0 lead in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
Tatum also contributed 10 rebounds and eight assists, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points.
The Celtics managed to stifle Indiana's potent offense in the second half to clinch the victory in Indianapolis, where they will aim to close out the series on Monday.
Despite the absence of All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton, who aggravated a left hamstring strain in game two, the Pacers, unbeaten in six previous home games this postseason, fought hard to avoid falling into a 0-3 hole.
Andrew Nembhard stepped up as point guard, scoring 32 points and dishing out nine assists.
Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner each contributed 22 points for Indiana.
Game 4 is scheduled for May 28 in Indianapolis.
