Uncapped midfielder Ulises Ortegoza has been added to Chile's squad for World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Colombia, the Chilean football federation said on Sunday.
The 27-year-old replaces Norwich City's Marcelino Nunez, who suffered an unspecified injury in his side's 4-0 home win over Hull City in the English Championship on Saturday.
Argentina-born Ortegoza, who became a Chilean citizen earlier this year, has impressed this season for Argentine top-flight club Talleres Cordoba.
The Chilean federation also announced that Toulouse left-back Gabriel Suazo had been cut from the squad due to a hamstring tear.
Chile will meet Brazil in Santiago on October 10 and Colombia in Barranquilla five days later.
La Roja are currently ninth in the 10-team South American qualifying group with just one victory from eight games so far.
