Civil Service’s VibeRun for a cause slated Sept. 1

MANILA – Thousands of government officials and employees nationwide are set to join the benefit fun run organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Sept. 1.

The event dubbed “VibeRun: Takbo para sa mga Servant-Heroes” aims to foster physical and mental well-being among 1.9 million civil servants working in various government agencies as part of the celebration of the month-long Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) in September.

"As we begin the 124th PCSA, our goal is to host an event that carries profound meaning and purpose for all participants. VibeRun goes beyond the act of running. It serves as a meaningful way to contribute. The funds raised will directly benefit the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi) Program of the CSC, providing essential financial support to the families of civil servants who lost their lives in the line of duty," CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles said in a press release.

The PLBi Program is a tribute to slain/deceased government employees by giving them a one-time financial assistance of PHP100,000.00, a plaque of recognition and scholarship grants to the deceased employee’s immediate family member.

Since its inception in 2011, the PLBi program has supported 249 awardees nationwide.

Nograles also encouraged government agencies across the country to send representatives to participate in the 3km and 5km categories.

In the National Capital Region (NCR) and Region 4 (Calabarzon and Mimaropa), the VibeRun organized by the NCR office at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park, Manila City will showcase a vibrant display of color and celebration with the incorporation of holi color powder, a safe substance traditionally used during the Holi festival in India and Nepal.

Some 20,000 runners representing various government offices in NCR and Region 4 are expected to participate.

To participate in the VibeRun, register at bit.ly/4cY75dU until Aug. 29 and coordinate with the CSC field office where the agency is clustered. The registration fee is PHP250 each.

Further details regarding the event, as well as the regional location and registration, will be made available on the official CSC Facebook page facebook.com/civilservicegovph and the PCSA microsite https://csc.gov.ph/pcsa2024. (PR)
