The sovereign guarantees approved by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. **will** address the housing backlog in the country, according to the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DSHUD).
In a briefing in Malacañang on Wednesday, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said the sovereign guarantees will be used to fast-track the construction of houses under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program (4PH).
Currently, there are 53 ongoing projects under the 4PH project which aim to provide decent and affordable shelters for all Filipinos in need of a home.
“This guarantee is another solid testament of our President’s commitment to uplift the lives of all Filipinos by providing decent yet affordable shelters through a whole-of-nation approach,” Acuzar said.
“I am optimistic that this guarantee will make the difference in our quest to finally address homelessness in the country. This could be the game changer.”
Acuzar vowed to help the President make every Filipino’s dream of having their own home come true.
PND
