Congressional aspirants who are big names in politics in Pangasinan filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections provincial office here Tuesday.
Among the aspirants are Pangasinan 2nd District Rep. Mark Cojuangco who will be challenged by Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil.
"I am submitting myself to the people if they like my kind of service, my ideas, policies and advocacies. If these are what they like. I believe I have better plans than my rival," Cojuangco said in Filipino in a media interview.
Pangasinan 3rd District Rep. Maria Rachel Arenas, who was accompanied by her mother, Rosemarie Arenas, also filed her COC for reelection.
For the sixth district, Gilbert Estrella, son of Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III, will take on incumbent Rep. Marlyn Primicias-Agabas.
"We believe, not to discredit anyone, but there is always a room for improvement. It is just a matter of type of leadership. I would like to focus on food security, livelihood, and more support services to our farmers," the younger Estrella said. (PNA)
