FIBA releases 3x3 hoop sked for Paris 2024

MIES –  The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has released the schedule for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games 3x3 basketball competitions on Monday.

  The event will be held at the Place de la Concorde in the center of Paris from July 30-August 5, the second time 3x3 basketball will be competed at the Games after the inaugural showcase at Tokyo 2020.

  Eight teams per gender will compete in a single pool during the group stage with the top two teams advancing directly to the semifinals. The third to sixth ranked teams will vie for the other two berths in the semifinals before the finals and bronze medal games to be played on August 5.

  The qualified teams are as follows:

Men's:

Serbia (ranking), United States (ranking), China (ranking), Latvia (UOQT 1), Netherlands (UOQT 2), France (OQT), Lithuania (OQT), Poland (OQT)

Women's:

China (ranking), United States (ranking), France (ranking), Azerbaijan (UOQT 1), Australia (UOQT 2), Germany (OQT), Spain (OQT), Canada (OQT). 

  Meanwhile, the volleyball's world governing body FIVB also officially announced Sunday the qualified teams for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games women's volleyball competition.

  Defending champions the United States, three-time Olympic champions China, reigning world champions Serbia and current VNL (Volleyball Nations League) champions Türkiye are all included in the 12 teams for Paris 2024.

  The full list is as follows:

Brazil, China, the Dominican Republic, France, Italy, Japan, Kenya, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Türkiye, and the United States.

The Olympic volleyball tournament will take place from July 27 to August 11 at the South Paris Arena in the French capital. Xinhua
