The Department of Education (DepEd) Division conducted the Oplan Balik Eskwela Stakeholders Convergence and Annual Press Conference Pakisabot 2024 today July 18. The event, held at the Provincial Capitol Gym, gathered key officials and partner agencies to present their preparations and programs for the upcoming school year. Representing Gov. Ben P. Evardone is Philippine Councilors League Regional President and Committee on Education Chairman RV Evardone.


During the Oplan Balik Eskwela event, partner agencies presented their initiatives to ensure a smooth start to the school year. Loida Grace A. Loste from PSWDO highlighted new and revamped welfare programs, including the Childcare and Development Program and the BPE Educational Assistance Program, supported by Governor Ben P. Evardone. Plt. Col. Recardo S. Marasigan of PNP ESPO announced plans to donate school materials, enhance police visibility, and encourage barangay tanods to patrol schools nightly. AFP's 1LT Jaelord Dan Babo Bangisan committed to providing manpower support for Brigada Eskwela.


FO2 Fire Officer Silverio Norte from BFP stressed the importance of fire safety, promoting the Batang Bumberong Mag-aaral Project, fire drills, and first aid training. DOH's Jefferson Quiza addressed the urgency of rising dengue and rabies cases. PSA's Leonardo N. Raรฑola offered assistance with civil registry documents for students. LTO's Jolly A. Limbuan advised parents of minors to secure student permits before purchasing motorcycles. Vee Gumban from PIA pledged to disseminate timely information about Brigada Eskwela.


Additionally, Samson Fernandez from ESAMELCO guaranteed an uninterrupted power supply, Jewel M. Costuna from DILG assured the maintenance of smooth and secure roads, and Engr. II Niรฑo Carlo Castillejos from DPWH focused on installing warning signs and declogging canals.


Gorgonio G. Diaz Jr., PhD, CESO V, the Schools Division Superintendent, called for collective effort: "Muli tayong magbayanihan para sa panatag, maayos at ligtas na pagbabalik ng eskwela ng mga bata, para han kauswagan ngan kaupayan han kabataan han Eastern Samar hihimuon naton an ngatanan." The event showcased a unified approach to ensuring a safe and effective start to the new school year, highlighting the collaboration and dedication of various stakeholders. (TAC)
