President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the inauguration of the Grand Westside Hotel in Parañaque City on June 22, 2024. Considered as the biggest hotel development in the Philippines to date, the Grand Westside Hotel is a 1,530-room structure situated in Metro Manila’s ‘Entertainment City’ offering a wide array of services, amenities and leisure that can cater to the demands of the growing tourism industry in the country.
Megaworld's Grand Westside Hotel broke ground on Sunday, and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sees the hotel creating 20,000 direct and indirect jobs once it is fully operational.
In his speech during the Ceremonial opening, Marcos said Megaworld has developed many hotels and other tourism-related establishments around the country and has proven to be the government's "true partner in national development and a great builder of dreams and sustainable communities in our society."
"With all these, we foresee not only the entry of more tourists but also the generation of more jobs, new businesses, and greater opportunity," he said.
The hotel has a capacity of 1,530 rooms, which can accommodate a resurging number of local and international tourists coming to Metro Manila.
The President said the opening of the biggest hotel in the Philippines is also expected "to make our Entertainment City become better known and even more distinguished."
Marcos also expressed delight as Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) President Kevin Tan hinted about the upcoming Grand Opera House, the opening of more theaters, and a gaming complex, which are expected to generate more jobs and opportunities for Filipinos.
Marcos said he looks forward to Megaworld's triumph in their work, which will "undoubtedly contribute to the new Philippines, ang Bagong Pilipinas," being built.
"Indeed, all of us share the desire to raise sustainable, complete, [and] well-rounded communities that even the next generations can enjoy. With the seal of quality stamped wherever the name Megaworld appears — condominiums, malls, or office buildings — I'm confident in the lasting and powerful outcome of your work and these collaborations," the President said.
