Groups launch initiative streamlining business for Germans

The Marcos administration, in a significant move, has joined forces with the private sector to introduce the German-Philippines Business Action Portal (GBAP) initiative. This strategic partnership aims to simplify government transactions for German enterprises looking to establish or expand their business in the country.

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) and the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) have unveiled a platform that promises to revolutionize business operations for German enterprises in the Philippines.

The German-Philippines Business Action Portal (GBAP) initiative is designed to streamline business transactions, gather feedback, and address concerns related to government services, thereby enhancing the business environment for German businesses in the country.

"This innovative portal marks a major advancement in digitalizing our country's business operations and improving efficiency. We extend our gratitude to GPCCI for their invaluable partnership and we believe this initiative will set a new benchmark for public-private cooperation in enhancing business efficiency," ARTA director general Ernesto Perez said.

Perez said the portal is an offshoot of the memorandum of understanding signed between ARTA and GPCCI in November 2023, making the business group one of the first "ARTA Champions."

GBAP is available in English and German and seeks to improve the transparency, efficiency, and overall business operations of German businesses in the country through close collaboration with the public sector.

"The German-Philippine Business Action Portal underscores our dedication to promoting a business-friendly environment that benefits both the private sector and government agencies. We are proud to initiate this platform, setting a precedent for other ARTA champions," GPCCI president Marie Antoniette Mariano said.

Deputy head of mission Mathias Kruse of the German Embassy here is also optimistic that the GBAP will catalyze improvement in the Philippine investment climate, bringing more significant advancements in business efficiency and more vital collaboration between Germany and the Philippines.
