Laborer from Cavite wins P46-M jackpot

A 50-year-old laborer from Cavite hammered his way to the millionaire’s list by claiming the jackpot prize of P46,011,957.80 for the Megalotto 6/45 drawn on April 22, 2024.

The newly minted millionaire, a loyal lotto player for over twenty years, chose the winning numbers 33-17-40-09-42-20, inspired by his family members' birthdays. Accustomed to a life of hard work in construction, he struggled to grasp the reality of suddenly possessing millions.

When asked about his daily living, he tearfully remarked, “Kung hindi pupukpok, walang magagastos.”

PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles offered valuable financial guidance to the winner, advising him to consider saving a portion of his fortune and venturing into business investments.

"Salamat po! Hindi rin po ako magpapakita ng mga malaking pagbabago sa aking pamumuhay upang hindi ako mahalata ng aking mga kapitbahay,” the winner replied.

To claim lotto prizes, winners must sign the back of the winning ticket and provide two valid government IDs for verification. Additionally, they must comply with the 20% tax on prizes exceeding P10,000 under the TRAIN Law.

As per Republic Act 1169, winners have one year from the draw date to claim their prize at the PCSO Main Office at Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.

Meanwhile, Robles reminds everyone that E-Lotto is now accessible to the public. This digital platform offers a convenient and secure way for lotto enthusiasts to participate from the comfort of their homes or any convenient location.

This digital transformation aligns with the PCSO's mission to innovate and adapt to the evolving needs of the gaming public.
