Letran rallied past San Sebastian College, 25-20, 25-27, 20-25, 25-12, 15-9, to secure the No. 2 seeding in the NCAA Season 99 women’s volleyball stepladder semifinal at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan on Wednesday.
Gia Marcel Maquilang scored 25 points, 24 on attacks, as the Lady Knights finished the elimination round with a 7-2 slate.
Marie Judiel Nitura chipped in 13 points; Angelique Ledesma, scored 12 points, including five blocks; and Nizelle Aeriyen Martin had 11 attacks.
Natalie Marie Estreller produced six points, including two blocks and two aces, to go with 20 excellent sets, while skipper Lara Mae Silva contributed 23 digs and 19 receptions.
Katherine Santos paced the Lady Stags (2-7) with 22 spikes and one ace followed by Christina Marasigan (19), Kristine Joy Dionisio (15) and Kamille Josephine Amaka Tan (10).
Meanwhile, No. 3 Lyceum of the Philippines University and No. 4 Arellano University will square off on May 12, with the winner battling Letran for the right to face two-time champion College of St. Benilde in the best-of-three finals.
