The Land Transportation Office (LTO) advised motorists who have not claimed their plastic-printed driver’s license to make use of the “Aksyon on the Spot 09292920865” system for faster printing.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said drivers can scan or take a photo of their paper-printed driver’s license and send it to the Viber platform.
“We will immediately print their driver’s license in the Central Office (in Quezon City) and we will also give them the option if they want their plastic-printed driver’s license through our accredited courier service,” Mendoza said in a news release on Saturday.
Based on the consolidated LTO data, only five percent of those affected by the backlog have yet to claim their plastic license cards.
“Humigit kumulang mga 9.7 million cards, na-bid out na po 'yan ng DOTr (Department of Transportation) at LTO (The DOTr and LTO have already bid out around 9.7 million cards). So, there’s no reason why we will not have enough cards for the entire year,” Mendoza earlier said.
