President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed into law several measures seeking to establish new schools in Bacoor City, Cavite and district engineering offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in various provinces.
Marcos signed Republic Act (RA) 12007 and 12008 on June 13, establishing a senior high school and an elementary school in Bacoor City, Cavite, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a news release Tuesday.
RA 12007 establishes the “Progressive Senior High School” in Progressive Village 3, Barangay Bayanan, while RA 12008 creates the “Progressive Elementary School” in Barangay Molino 2.
The PCO said Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte was tasked to immediately include in the department’s program the operationalization of the new senior high and elementary schools, as well as to formulate the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the two laws within 90 days from its approval.
New local engineering offices
In a separate new release, the PCO said the President signed RA 11998 on June 7, creating the Bukidnon 4th District Engineering Office to be located in the city of Valencia to serve the city and the municipalities of Pangantucan and Kalilangan.
Approved by Marcos on June 13 was RA 12002, creating the Negros Occidental 5th District Engineering Office located in the City of San Carlos. It will serve the cities of Escalante and San Carlos, and the municipalities of Toboso, Calatrava, and Salvador Benedicto.
RA 12003 and 12004 were also signed on June 13, creating the Bataan 3rd District Engineering Office and the Bulacan 3rd District Engineering Office.
The Bataan engineering office, to be located in Bagac, Bataan, will serve the towns of Bagac, Dinalupihan, Mariveles, and Morong.
The Bulacan office, on the other hand, will be located in the municipality of San Rafael and will serve the municipalities of San Rafael, Dona Remedios Trinidad, San Miguel, and San Ildefonso.
Lastly, the President signed RA 12005, establishing the Iloilo 6th District Engineering Office, which will be located in the municipality of Pototan, serving the towns of Badiangan, Cabatuan, Calinog, Janiuay, Lambunao, Maasin, Mina, and Pototan. PNA
