The National Housing Authority (NHA) supported the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development-led “Housing Caravan: Asensong Ramdam” held recently at Covered Court Phase 2, San Jose del Monte Heights, Brgy. Muzon East, San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan.

Through the guidance of NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, Assistant General Manager Alvin S. Feliciano spearheaded the Authority’s delegation to the event. From a total of almost 800 beneficiaries who attended the Housing Caravan, 219 availed the opportunity to raise their concerns that were catered by the agency through NHA Region III Office.

Issues related to Estate Management, proposed Condonation Program, receipt of amortization payments, election of HOA Officers, and shortage of water supply in select areas were addressed by the NHA with appropriate solutions and actions.

“Ang NHA ay handa tugunan ang mga pangangailangan ninyo. Handa kami na mag meet halfway sa inyo para maresolba ang mga problema ukol sa bill, delinquency interests, demand notices at iba pa,” NHA AGM Feliciano said.

An initiative of the Committee on Housing and Urban Development chaired by Rep. Florida P. Robes, and in coordination with the NHA and the Local Government of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, the caravan aims to shed light on the various housing concerns of the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, the NHA awarded housing units to 75 families affected by an earthquake in 2019, in a recently held ceremony in Brgy. Libertad, Arakan, Cotabato.

Under the guidance of General Manager Joeben Tai, NHA XII Regional Manager Engr. Zenaida M. Cabiles spearheaded the awarding of the shelters to the family beneficiaries belonging to the Manobo-Tinananon Tribe.

The awarded houses are part of the 151-unit housing project worth P49,709,500 intended for quake-victim families in Arakan. The remaining units, 33 of which are situated in Sitio Lomunday and 43 in Sitio Mambino, Brgy. Ganatan, are expected to be completed next month. It is under the NHA’s Housing Assistance Program for Calamity Victims (HAPCV), in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense XII (OCD-XII), the provincial government of Cotabato, and the local government of Arakan.

In her message, Engr. Cabiles encouraged the beneficiaries to take care, enrich, and not sell the housing gift of the government.

Cotabato Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza, who was represented by Allan Matullano of the Indigenous Peoples Affairs Office; Arakan Mayor Jeam D. Villasor, OCD-XII Regional Director Raylindo Aniñon, local officials, and members of the Arakan People's Government also graced the event.
