Due to Tropical Storm Kristine's onslaught, the National Housing Authority (NHA), led by General Manager Joeben Tai, will implement a month-long moratorium on housing amortization and lease payments to all NHA housing beneficiaries nationwide.
The moratorium will automatically apply to nationwide beneficiaries from November 1-30, 2024. Payment of amortization and lease shall resume on December 1, 2024.
Additionally, delinquency or additional interest charges will not be imposed during the moratorium period until November 30, 2024. Any penalties and interest charges incurred before November 1, 2024, will resume on December 1, 2024.
Tai said, “This policy measure is intended to offer relief and ease affected families’ financial obligations for a month—as Typhoon Kristine extensively ravaged different parts of the country.”
It should be noted that families do not need to apply for this moratorium.
In July of this year, NHA also implemented a moratorium policy for Typhoon Carina-stricken beneficiaries in the National Capital Region (NCR), Regions III and IV.
Beyond its commitment to providing homes and uplifting lives, NHA is also dedicated to ensuring that vulnerable communities can recover and improve their living conditions during calamities. By giving relief and housing assistance to those impacted by natural and human-induced disasters, the NHA continues to be sensitive to the needs of its clientele.
