NU, Adamson reach Asiabasket Int'l Championship semis



National University and Adamson University beat their respective rivals Sunday night to reach the semifinal of 2024 ANTA Asiabasket International Championship at the Enderun Colleges in Taguig City.


Jolo Manansala finished with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Mohammed Diassana added 14 points and four rebounds as the Bulldogs demolished the reigning NCAA champion San Beda University Red Lions, 83-63, to remain unbeaten in five outings.


Adamson also kept its perfect record after beating Phenom Blue Fire, 105-80, in the quarterfinal.


AJ Fransman the Falcons scored 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal, while Cedrick Manzano chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds.


NU will face FEU, which pulled off a 94-89 win over National Formosa University-Taiwan

Rookie Veejay Pre paced the Tamaraws with 26 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and one block. Janrey Pasaol contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks.


Adamson, on the other hand, will be up against College of Saint Benilde, which eliminated Mapua University, 90-63.


Matthew Oli and Jesse Arciaga combined for 23 points for the Blazers, who also got nine points each from Paul Turco and Roger Ondoa.
