Some PHP706.09 million worth of assistance has been provided to families affected by the effects of the southwest monsoon (habagat) and Typhoons Butchoy and Carina that devastated a large part of the country last July, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.

"Due to the undetermined number of families requiring assistance in some regions, the total number of families and corresponding percentage are yet to be determined," the NDRRMC said.
The aid extended included food and non-food items. The number of reported deaths is placed at 48, of which only 14 are confirmed as of this time.
