Transformative governance that will allow fundamental structural and policy changes is the current direction of the Marcos administration to hasten growth.
With achievements done through the unified efforts of all, it is time to tweak policies to help the nation navigate toward the future, said President Ferdinand Marcos yesterday.
Speaking during the alliance signing between the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and the Lakas-CMD party in Makati City, President Marcos said his government is doing transformative governance.
“Kailangan palitan natin talaga ang patakbo ng pamahalaan. Kailangan natin palitan at pag-isipan, ang ating patakbo ng
[pamahalaan], kung saan tayo tutungo. And we have to position the Philippines in a way that will take full advantage of the new economy,” he told party members.
“And to do that, we have to make some very fundamental structural and policy changes. We cannot do those policy changes do those policy changes without the support of the legislature. Legislative support for any policy is absolutely necessary,” he added.
The President pointed out that when he talks about the all-of-government approach, it’s no longer just the executive that is expected to implement programs or to be part of the country’s economic progress and development. That also includes congressional participation that allows the administration to execute current policy changes, underscoring the need for unity to best serve the people, he added.
“Sa nakaraang dalawang taon ay nakita natin na ‘yung pagkakaisa na binuo natin bago pa noong kampanya hanggang sa eleksyon, at noong tayo ay umupo na at nagkakaisa pa rin tayo ay marami tayong nagagawa,” said President Marcos.
“Marami tayong maipakita na pagbabago, marami tayong natutulungan na mga Pilipino, at papunta na nga tayo sa tinatawag nating Bagong Pilipinas,” he added.
Formed in 2018, the PFP is a national political party in the Philippines chaired by President Marcos.
The PFP, Lakas-CMD, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), and guest candidates from other parties comprised the UniTeam Alliance in the run-up to the 2022 national polls where President Marcos won by a landslide.
Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. witnessed on Wednesday the signing of alliance between the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats Alliance.
Called “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the alliance aims to uplift the lives of the Filipino people under a unified “Bagong Pilipinas.”
In his speech during the signing ceremony in Makati City, President Marcos said the PFP-Lakas-CMD alliance is a significant moment for Philippine politics and public service as it would propel the country towards the country’s transformation.
“We mark today a significant moment not just for Philippine politics, but also for the field of public service, as members of both parties formalize and build an alliance that will propel our country towards the Bagong Pilipinas that we envision,” President Marcos said.
President Marcos was the guest of honor during the signing of the alliance attended by around 300 PFP and Lakas-CMD members.
The President said he was encouraged by the overwhelming support of the Filipino people during the 2022 presidential elections, prompting the creation of the ‘UniTeam’ with Vice President Sara Duterte.
President Marcos won the 2022 presidential elections with 31 million votes, a testament of the Filipino’s faith not only in the promise to deliver better public service, but also in their vision to build a better Philippines.
“Ito naman ay nakita natin na tanggap na tanggap ng taumbayan ang ating mensahe tungkol sa pagkakaisa. At bukod pa dun, noong tayo’y matagumpay na sa ating kampanya, ipinagpatuloy natin ‘yung ating pagkakaisa dahil nasimulan natin ‘yung tinatawag natin na whole-of-government approach,” he said.
Under the whole-of-government approach, President Marcos said all government agencies are now working with one another along with the legislative and executive branches of the government in what he called “transformative politics.” PND
