MANILA – Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and other law enforcement agents arrested three suspected illegal drug dealers, two of them foreigners, and seized some PHP9.43 worth of assorted illegal drugs in an operation in Pasay City on Wednesday.

PDEG chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said the operation took place around 5 p.m. at Barangay 76, Zone 10, Pasay City.

"This resulted in the successful arrest of two foreign nationals, one Filipino, one native individual subject for follow up operations (at large)," he said in a statement on Thursday.

The operating teams seized approximately one kilogram of suspected shabu, 80 grams of cocaine, 71 grams of ketamine, 135 grams of high-grade marijuana (kush), nine pieces of liquid marijuana, 16 pieces of liquid Ecstasy, 359 pieces of Ecstasy, 584 pieces of Ecstasy worth PHP9,425,500 and two firearms with ammunition.

"I highly appreciate the Group's efforts to continually implement the battle against illegal drugs and encourage them to work hard,” Matta said.

“Isa lang itong patunay na ang PNP DEG ay patuloy na gagampanan ang sinumpaang tungkulin para sa bayan (This a proof that PNP DEG continues to fulfill its sworn duty for the people),” he added.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to PDEG headquarters for documentation and proper disposition. (PNA)
