Paved tourism road boosts local economy in Pangasinan town

The construction of an access road leading to Tubong Beach and Dacap Sur Pilgrimage Site in Bani, Pangasinan was completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in convergence with the Department of Tourism (DOT).


In her update to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Pangasinan 1st District Engineer Marieta B. Mendoza stated that the newly paved road, with a total length of 563 meters, now benefits both the local community and the tourism industry of Bani.


The completed road project, under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP), includes the construction of Portland cement concrete pavement and stone masonry along critical portions to ensure road safety in the vicinity.


"Constructing access roads leading to tourist destinations is crucial for boosting the local economy and fostering cultural exchange between locals and tourists in the town of Bani," added District Engineer Mendoza.


Contributing to the long-term economic progress of the province of Pangasinan, the access road project was funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act with a total budget allocation of P19.30 million.
