The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Iloilo concluded the 33rd Visayas Area Business Conference (VABC) at the Iloilo Convention Center. The event, themed "Empowering Business Innovations for an Enriched One Visayas," gathered top business leaders and industry experts from across the region to discuss digital transformation, sustainable development, and collaborative growth.

The conference featured notable speakers, including Jose Rene Almendras, senior manager at Ayala Corp and 2024 MAP president; Karen Batungbacal, partner at CEO Adviser, Inc, known as the Mother of the BPO Industry in the Philippines; and Candice Iyog, chief Marketing and customer experience officer at Cebu Pacific.

Bunny Pages, chairman and CEO of Pages Holdings, Inc., the company behind national brands like Thirsty and Fruitful, moderated the main plenary session.

Paolo Campos led breakout sessions on Strategic Growth, Lee Carlo Abadia on Digital Transformation, Dr. Lance Tan on Innovation, and Neil Arnold Montesclaros on Family Enterprise.

PCCI Iloilo President Fulbert Woo expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and participation in the conference. "This event is a testament to the vibrant business community in the Visayas, and we are committed to fostering growth and development in the region," he said.

E-commerce platform Lazada has partnered with PCCI Iloilo to empower sellers in the Western Visayas region.

Through this collaboration, Lazada provides sellers with educational resources and support through Lazada University, a self-study portal for sellers who want to start and grow their businesses.

"Sellers are at the heart of our business, and we want to make online selling accessible for everyone. It's been incredible to witness the talent from the Visayas region," said Angel Ramiro, Lazada Philippines' chief operating officer. "Expanding our ecosystem and building a community here is our top priority, and we're excited to partner with the PCCI to make this vision a reality."
