Sen. Joseph Victor ”JV” Ejercito commends Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla for instituting reforms in the Department of Justice for the past two and a half years and one of this was the establishment of 246 prosecution offices. Ejercito, during the Finance Subcommittee A hearing Wednesday, August 28, 2024 on the proposed P40.6 billion budget of the DOJ and its attached agencies for 2025, said the success rates of the cases filed by the DOJ increased because of these reforms. Another reform introduced by Remulla, Ejercito said, was the Philippine National Police training with the prosecution service. “We can supplement or allocate more funds for this because this will improve the success rate of the prosecution that will be filed by the police,” Ejercito said, noting that at present, lack of coordination between the police and the prosecution service resulted in the dismissal of the cases filed in court.
