A 5.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the waters near Gigmoto, Catanduanes on Saturday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs' Earthquake Bulletin No. 1 detailed that the quake occurred at 8:41 a.m.
The seismic event, originating from a depth of 10 kilometers, was classified as tectonic.
