Repatriation of Guo’s companion made possible thru Indonesian assistance

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday said that the repatriation of the two companions of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is being carried out in coordination with the Indonesian government.

“They were intercepted in various places in Singapore and Indonesia. And we are now – of course, in coordination with the Indonesian government and their agencies – arranging for them to be brought back,” President Marcos said.

The Chief Executive said that the two would be back home “within a day or two.”

President Marcos made the remarks on the sidelines of the “Meet and Greet with the Filipino Paris Olympians” at the Malacañan Palace on Thursday when asked to comment on the arrest of Cassandra Li Ong and Guo’s sister, Sheila.

Ong is reportedly a representative of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub Lucky South 99 in Pampanga, which was raided by authorities last July.

The Office of the President (OP) earlier directed the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to facilitate the cancellation of the Philippine passports issued to Guo, her kin Wesley Leal Guo, Sheila, and Ong.

President Marcos earlier stood firm that government personnel who aided the departure of Guo and her companions would be held accountable.

“The departure of Alice Guo has laid bare the corruption that undermines our justice system and erodes public trust,” President Marcos said.

“Let me be clear: Heads will roll,” he stressed.

Guo reportedly left the Philippines on July 18 using her Philippine passport. She flew to Singapore and then traveled to Indonesia. PND
