Sen. Win urges Guo to name names

Sen. Win Gatchalian urges former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo to disclose the names of all persons who helped her escaped the country and the names of her accomplices in building the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) hubs in Bamban, Tarlac and Porac, Pampanga. During Monday’s hearing, September 9, 2024 of the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, Gatchalian said it is important to prosecute the persons who helped Guo escaped and built the POGO hubs. “We want to know who helped you to escape, be it a private personality or in the government. We also want to know who are your accomplices in building the POGO hubs in Bamban and Porac, because we have seen a connection with both,” Gatchalian said. “It is important to prosecute them and it is also important to punish them. So this hearing is important and it is important that we hear from you (Alice Guo). Who are these people who helped you to bring crime here in our beloved country,” he added. Seven cases were already filed against Guo: graft and corruption case filed by the Ombudsman, human trafficking case by the Department of Justice (DOJ), qu-warranto case by tge Solicitor General (SolGen), tax evasion case by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), money laundering case by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), cancellation of birth certificate by the SolGen, and an election code offense by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
