MANILA – Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero announced on Thursday that they have secured five additional venues for hearings and other activities from the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), boosting the Senate's legislative efficiency.
Escudero said these function rooms, named after notable historical figures, will facilitate more committee hearings and expedite legislative processes, including those of the Commission on Appointments.
“We need additional venues for conducting committee hearings, which are sometimes delayed due to the lack of meeting rooms in the current Senate building,” he said in a news release.
The agreement between the Senate and PICC extends until December 2025, demonstrating a long-term commitment to improving the Senate's legislative functions.
Escudero said this move accommodates the growing demands of the Senate's legislative agenda and underscores its dedication to governance and public service. (PNA)
