The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Saturday said the number of tourists stranded in Batanes due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine is down to 140 from 371.
All 140 are expected to depart Basco beginning Sunday.
"All other stranded tourists from previously reported areas were able to travel onwards to their respective destinations," the DOT said in a statement.
The DOT assured that it remains in close coordination with national agencies and local government units and local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management councils to ensure the safety of all tourists.
Tourists are urged to continually stay informed through official weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
