The Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup Asia Finals 2024

Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Asia has announced the 15 finalists set to compete in the Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo (GR GT) Cup Asia Finals 2024, an exciting e-Motorsports event featuring the popular racing game *Gran Turismo 7* for PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PlayStation 4 (PS4).

The highly anticipated finals will take place on October 13, 2024, at the Connexion Conference and Event Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Top racers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand will compete for a spot in the global GR GT Cup later this year.

The venue will be equipped with floor-to-ceiling screens to enhance the viewing experience for participants and spectators alike. “We are thrilled to continue to push the boundaries of e-Motorsports in the region with the fifth edition of the Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup Asia Finals,” shared Preston Tan, Vice President of Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia. “Platforms like the GR GT Cup allow talented racers to showcase their skills while driving our innovation and continuous improvement mission.”

### GR GT Cup Asia: Format of Play

The competition begins with local qualifying races, where the top three racers from each country—Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand—earned their spots in the Asia Finals.

Among the finalists are Indonesia’s defending champion Andika Rama, and crowd favorites Taj Aiman from Malaysia and Thanaphat Pungphat from Thailand. Representing the Philippines are Luis Moreno, who secured second place at last year’s Asia Finals, alongside Russel Reyes and newcomer Enzo Ison. The trio emerged victorious from a pool of 40 top sim racers during the National Finals held at the SM Mall of Asia in August.

### Final Race

The Asia Finals will consist of three races held on iconic circuits: Sardegna Windmills, Nürburgring GP, and Fuji Speedway. Each track presents unique challenges that will test the racers’ speed, strategy, and skill. The overall champion will be determined based on a point system tallying results from each race.

The top two racers from the Asia Finals will advance to the Global Finals later this year, where they will compete for a prize pool of over $61,000.

### Streaming and Media Coverage

Fans across the region can catch all the action live-streamed on Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia's Facebook page and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines' Facebook page. Hosting the event will be Singapore's Victoria Cheng, alongside commentators Dez Corkhill, Amir Haziq, Ari Saputra, Mike Denaldi, James Laohongthong, and Kulachart Oat Rhuvatana.

### Toyota’s Commitment to e-Motorsports

The GR GT Cup Asia Finals play a vital role in Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia’s mission to engage a new generation of racing fans and push the boundaries of e-Motorsports. By blending the excitement of virtual and physical racing, Toyota aims to nurture young talent, enhance the appeal of motorsports, and create unique driving experiences across Asia and beyond.
