ISTANBUL, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Turkish security forces found on Thursday an unmanned naval vehicle on the Black Sea shores of Türkiye's largest city Istanbul, local officials said.
According to a statement from the Istanbul governor's office, the unidentified vehicle was found washed ashore on Yalikoy beach in the Catalca district.
Coast Guard and gendarmerie teams were swiftly dispatched to ensure the safety of nearby citizens, escorting them outside the perimeter, the statement said.
The vehicle, measuring three meters in length and one meter in width, has been secured by the deployed teams, the governor's office added.
The state-run Anadolu Agency said that the following assessments indicated the vehicle's potential use in human trafficking, and the Catalca Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation. ■
