More than four years after his tragic death in a helicopter crash, late Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant continues to receive many posthumous honors from many people across the land.
Back in February, a statue with his likeness that depicts him at the end of his 81-point game during the 2005-06 season was unveiled outside of Crypto.com Arena, a facility sometimes referred to as "The House that Kobe Built." More recently, a second statue was unveiled that honors Bryant's relationship with his daughter Gianna, who was also killed in that helicopter crash.
A third statue that will depict Bryant wearing jersey No. 24 — which he wore for the second half of his 20-year career — was originally planned to be revealed during this coming NBA season. But it looks like that is no longer the case, according to Khobi Price of the Southern California News Group.
Fans have been wondering what that third statue will look like and which pose or moment it will feature. Will it depict Bryant on the scorer's table after the Lakers defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals? Or will it be based on another memorable moment in the latter phase of the Black Mamba's career?
Looks like they will have to wait a little longer to find out.
