KORONADAL CITY – Police authorities in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) have confiscated over P2.2 million worth of shabu during simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations (SACLEO) over the weekend.
Brig. Gen. Percival Placer, Police Regional Office-12 director, said the operations also resulted in the arrest of 34 drug personalities.
“The operations carried out from June 14 to 15 resulted in the recovery of 325 grams of shabu,” Placer said in a statement released Monday.
Two small firearms, one explosive, two vehicles, two gadgets, and P11,8210 cash were also recorded, he added.
During the SACLEO, 85 arrest warrants were also served, leading to the apprehension of six most wanted persons at the regional level, one at the provincial level, 34 at the city and municipal levels, and 44 other wanted persons.
All arrested suspects and recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the respective police stations for further documentation and proper disposition.
Placer noted that the SACLEO aims to halt the availability of illicit substances and disrupt the operations of drug syndicates in the region. "We are committed to protecting our communities from the negative effects of drug abuse," he said.
Meanwhile, Placer also reported that 63 assorted firearms were confiscated during the same SACLEO on June 15.
He said the arrested suspects are currently undergoing investigation and will face charges in violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. PNA
