World Karaoke finals on August 16 at SM

It's a wrap! The Karaoke World Championships Philippines held its final leg of auditions in Metro Manila on August 3 at the SM City Caloocan.

The New Channel (TNC), in partnership with Praxis and True Creators Studio, successfully wrapped up the KWC PH audition with its final stop in Metro Manila, transforming the SM Caloocan City stage into a battleground of vocal talents.

The KWC auditions attracted several talented individuals, each with their unique singing style, and the Metro Manila leg was no exception. The Metro Manila auditions marked the culmination of a nationwide search for the best karaoke singers in the Philippines, following the successful auditions in Mindanao (SM General Santos City), Visayas (SM City Cebu), and Luzon (SM City Pampanga).

The esteemed panel of judges, comprising KWC Philippines co-producers Apple Esplana-Manansala of The New Channel, Gladys Basinillo of Praxis, and Mercy Joy Mesina of True Creator Studio, along with the Co-Founder/Manager of Perlas ng Silangan Basketball League (PSBL) and TNC's resident host for the show #ParaSaBayan, Mr. Nato Agbayani, played a crucial role in selecting the most promising contestants from a pool of exceptional talents.

After a series of intense elimination rounds, Erika Ann Buensuceso, a 27-year-old singer-executive assistant from Taytay, Rizal, took the spotlight, earning her a well-deserved recognition as the KWC Metro Manila winner, also securing her spot in the grand finals. Her rendition of "Impossible Dream" led her to victory, captivating the judges and audience. Her exceptional vocal control, stage presence, and ability to connect with the emotions of the songs she performed indeed set her apart from the competition.

The competition was fierce and incredibly close! Jessa Mae Gallemaso and Rdee Asadon delivered outstanding performances that nearly rivaled Erika's, earning them the well-deserved titles of first and second runner-up, respectively.

The Metro Manila audition highlighted the region's incredible talent and set the stage for an exciting and highly anticipated grand finale. More so, the high turnout and exceptional talent on display throughout the auditions across the Philippines underscored the immense popularity of karaoke in the country and the deep-rooted passion for singing among Filipinos.

The KWC PH organizers would like to thank its brand partners and sponsors: SM Online, Sante Barley Max, Hapee Toothpaste, DITO Home, McDonald's, Everest Appliances, Katinko, Unisol, Quanta, Tiffany Chocolates, Piccadeli, Basecamp by PowerMac, and KWC's home venue, SM Supermalls, for their generous support and for making KWC's series of events possible.

Now that the Metro Manila auditions have concluded, the Karaoke World Championships Philippines journey is far from over. The regional champions from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will now face off in the grand finals on August 16th at the SM North EDSA Skydome.

The grand finals are set to be a spectacular showcase of Filipino talent, featuring guest performances by renowned artists Maki, Pauline Anne, and Hazel Faith. It will culminate in a nationwide search for the best amateur singers in the country and a celebration of the Philippines' rich karaoke culture. The grand winner on August 16 will represent our country in Finland's highly anticipated Karaoke World Championships global competition from October 7-12.
