Two outer lanes of Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City will close starting June 29 to give way for the construction of the Tandang Sora Station of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP), the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Tuesday.
In a traffic advisory, the DOTr said the affected portion is between Congressional and Tandang Sora Avenues.
“Light vehicles can utilize the newly constructed diversion road to offset the closure of the outer lane of Mindanao Avenue,” it said.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to reduce traffic congestion in the construction area.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding,” it said.
In March, the DOTr said the first contract package (CP101) of the MMSP was 40 percent complete, and is on track for partial operations by 2029.
CP101 is one of seven civil works contracts of the MMSP and involves the construction of three underground stations – Quirino Highway, Tandang Sora, and North Ave stations – and a depot in Valenzuela City. PNA
