SARIAYA, QUEZON – Seven persons, including a 2-year-old girl, were killed while eight others were hurt when a passenger van and a delivery truck collided early Sunday morning.
Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson for the Police Regional Office-Calabarzon, reported that the van driver and two of the six passengers died on the spot, while the other four succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sto. Cristo when the van swerved into the opposite lane, colliding with a south-bound truck.
The injured passengers, identified as Ariel Caliro, Louis Aldea, Antero Vergara, Gilber Caliro, Jomar Caliro, Anjo Caliro, and Sarah Concepcion, are currently recuperating in a hospital.
The truck driver, Crisanto Saculo, was also injured. (PNA)
