KORONADAL CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform in the Soccsksargen Region (DAR-12) commended its stakeholders and partners on Thursday for their collective efforts in project implementation, which recently earned the regional office national recognition.
DAR-12 Director Mariannie Lauban-Baunto announced that the regional office achieved a significant milestone by registering the highest number of e-titles under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project in the country as of July 31.
“These accolades are a testament to the hard work and steadfast dedication your respective field offices have exemplified in achieving our project objectives. We thank you for your devotion to our agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs),” Baunto said.
According to DAR-12 data, the successful registration of e-titles took place across the provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani. North Cotabato led with 4,909 e-titles covering 8,235 hectares, followed by South Cotabato with 2,702 e-titles for 4,438 hectares. Sultan Kudarat registered 2,092 e-titles spanning 4,925 hectares, and Sarangani recorded 1,845 e-titles over 2,729 hectares.
In total, 11,548 e-titles were registered regionwide, encompassing an area of 20,326.7181 hectares. Baunto also noted that extensive registration efforts identified 11,809 ARBs, significantly improving land ownership records and increasing accessibility to land for local communities.
“This achievement reflects DAR-12’s dedication and ongoing efforts to improve land tenure security,” she added.
The SPLIT Project, funded by the World Bank, aims to provide individual land titles to ARBs who were previously awarded Collective Certificates of Land Ownership Award under the Agrarian Reform Program. (PNA)
