Digital entertainment group DigiPlus Interactive Corp. (DigiPlus) posted a net income of ₱3.2 billion in the second quarter of the year, expanding 389 percent from the previous quarter. This was fueled by the robust performance of its digital retail segment and the rationalization of revenue sharing with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) for electronic games.
Revenues jumped 295% from their year-ago level to ₱18.9 billion on higher user traffic combined with fresh contributions from new game offerings. Meanwhile, EBITDA surged 351 percent year-on-year to ₱3.4 billion.
"The first semester was encouraging for DigiPlus. Despite the challenges, we strive to innovate and deliver unparalleled digital entertainment experiences to our customers. By optimizing user engagement through personalized experiences and diversifying our content offerings, we believe we are poised to capture the strong growth of the digital entertainment industry," said DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco.
Meanwhile, for the first half of the year, DigiPlus registered a net income of ₱5.2 billion, surging 377% from ₱1.1 billion in the same period a year ago. Revenues soared 263 percent to ₱32.5 billion from ₱8.9 billion. Conversely, EBITDA reached ₱5.5 billion, jumping 336% from the previous year.

In the first half of 2024, DigiPlus paid ₱15.1 billion in taxes and fees to the national government. Further, it provides jobs to over 3,300 employees in different parts of the country.

DigiPlus remains steadfast in its commitment beyond delivering premier digital entertainment by championing responsible gaming practices. Ensuring a controlled gaming experience for customers and supporting communities in need, the Foundation increased its outreach budget by 500% to over P100 million, demonstrating significant dedication to social impact initiatives.
BingoPlus Foundation empowers communities through education. With the FutureSmart Scholarship Program, the Foundation supports iAcademy scholars and is expanding to include more technology universities, targeting 130 additional scholars over the next two years. Additionally, a ₱17.5 million scholarship grant has been committed for technology students for the 2024-2025 school year.
In addition to the partnership with iAcademy, BingoPlus Foundation partnered with the SM Foundation to provide full scholarships to 30 tech students from vulnerable communities. In addition, the BingoPlus Foundation plans to partner with various educational institutions to teach basic financial literacy to the less fortunate.
In healthcare, the Foundation provides medical assistance and ambulance donations and partners with the Philippine Red Cross for blood donation drives, addressing critical healthcare needs. The Foundation is also looking at telemedicine, using technology to address the medical needs of our economy's unserved and underserved areas.
Through the Barangay Bigayan project, BingoPlus Foundation has enhanced healthcare accessibility in several barangays and supported the LGBTQIA+ community by donating HIV self-testing kits.
Most recently, during the BingoPlus Day Cebu Carnival, the Foundation donated ₱15 million to various causes, including ₱10 million for super typhoon Carina relief. Support was also extended to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc., and the Municipality of Dumanjug with initiatives enhancing digital skills, providing rehabilitation services, and ensuring clean water access.
