MMDA issues warning against text scam

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) cautions the public against a fraudulent notice circulating via text message, falsely claiming recipients owe fines payable through a provided link.

Motorists are advised to remain vigilant and avoid clicking suspicious links embedded in text messages to prevent divulging personal and sensitive information. To verify any dubious messages or social media posts, individuals are encouraged to contact the MMDA Hotline at 136 or message official MMDA accounts.

In line with road safety reminders, the MMDA emphasizes the importance of avoiding tailgating.

Drivers are reminded to maintain a safe distance when following other vehicles, as this reduces the risk of collisions.

Meanwhile, the MMDA extends solidarity with the celebration of Eid Al-Adha, recognizing it as a time for sacrifice, unity, and fraternity among our Muslim brothers and sisters who have observed their sacred fast.

The MMDA wishes for a peaceful and prosperous celebration, hoping that this occasion brings abundant blessings to their lives.

For more updates and information, the public is encouraged to follow official announcements from the MMDA.
