The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) conducted a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Workshop on May 16 to 17, 2024, at The Linden Suites in Mandaluyong City.
The event was attended by selected agency officials and employees.
The Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) aimed to evaluate and address privacy risks associated with the organization's data processing activities.
PCSO demonstrated its commitment to ensuring data protection, upholding privacy standards, and safeguarding sensitive information by conducting this assessment.
Cleo Martinez from the National Privacy Commission led the workshop and provided valuable privacy and data protection insights. His guidance helped enhance understanding of privacy impact assessments and emphasized the significance of data privacy in organizational procedures.
During the workshop, participants worked in groups to conduct assessments using established forms for gathering client data, following the core procedures of a PIA. This hands-on approach allowed them to apply their knowledge to identify privacy risks and implement data protection measures effectively.
The collaborative efforts highlighted the importance of prioritizing privacy and security in the organization's practices.
The workshop encouraged knowledge sharing, collaboration, and efforts to improve PCSO's data handling practices, reinforcing the organization's commitment to protecting individuals' privacy and confidentiality.
