PH's largest food, beverage expo in Pasay wraps up

  The 18th edition of the Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (MAFBEX 2024) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City concludes today, June 16.

  This year’s expo, which began on Independence Day, features various zones showcasing food, beverages, condiments, packaging, equipment, franchises, and specialty brews. Each zone aims to elevate visitors' culinary exploration, highlighting the industry’s diverse offerings.

  A major attraction is the “Chefs of the World” stage, where renowned Filipino chefs and social media influencers, including food vlogger Chef Ylyt Frixiah Manaig, celebrity chef Gerick Manalo and food influencer Chef Irish Manrique, will present gourmet recipes.

  Visitors can also embark on a global culinary journey by exploring pavilions featuring local produce, presented in collaboration with government agencies and industry associations. International exhibitors from Hong Kong, China, Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Korea will showcase their latest culinary innovations.

  MAFBEX also includes exciting food competitions, such as the “MAFBEX Culinary Cup: Home Chef Edition,” where eight finalists will compete live for the title of “Home Chef 2024.”

  Senator Imee Marcos, the keynote speaker at the grand opening ceremony on June 12, highlighted the pivotal role of the new generation of farmers in shaping the future of the food and beverage sector. Also in attendance were Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and Undersecreatry Joee Guilas, representing Secretary Frederick Go from the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs.

  The distinguished guests were welcomed by members of the Worldbex Services International (WSI) Executive Committee, including founding chairman Joseph Ang, co-founder Levi Ang, managing director Jill Ang and board of directors Tessie Roque, Rene Ramos and architect Francisco Flameño.

  Adding an international flair to the event were members of the diplomatic corps, including representatives from the Embassy of Turkey, Malaysia Trade Promotion Agency, Embassy of Malaysia, Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Philippines, Embassy of Pakistan, Royal Thai Embassy in Manila, Thai Trade Center Manila of the Royal Thai Embassy, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Manila, Embassy of Brunei Darussalam and the Embassy of the Argentine Republic.
