TRANSPARENCY and accountability is an essential aspect in public service that begins with local officials, Rep. Camille Villar said as she lauded the accomplishments of the Iligan city government in improving the lives of liganons.

“The SOICA address is an important checkpoint for this city, and I am especially impressed and heartened that the Iligan City government and Iliganons review progress with special emphasis on good governance and transparency,” she said.

Villar said the city government’s report on the affairs of Iliigan City is “an important facet of local culture,” pointing out that “it is in gatherings like these that strengthen our bonds as a community and reinforce our sense of pride, identity, and civic duty.”

“All of you would do well to remember this and continue to build on a culture of transparency and unity,” she added,

The Deputy House Speaker likewise hailed the efforts of the city leadership for its “remarkable progress in walking the path towards the shared vision that all Iliganons have for an even more prosperous lligan City.”

“I commend the vigorous efforts that led to real results to ensure good and responsive governance, one that champions agriculture, ensures basic necessities, combats corruption, and embraces progressive ideals such as gender awareness and development, and that’s only to name a few,” Villar said.
